What Can Families Expect at the Bookmobile Stops?

The Placentia Library District Bookmobile is a mobile extension of the library, bringing many of the same services, resources, and assistance directly into the community.

Families are welcome to come aboard to:

• Browse and check out books for children, teens, and adults.
• Participate during occasional activites and programming.
• Apply for a Placentia Library District card for both children and adults at any Bookmobile stop.
• Browse a select collection of Library of Things items.
• Request library materials in advance and have them sent to a scheduled Bookmobile stop for pickup.
• Ask staff about library programs, resources, and services.
• Receive passport information and applications.

Bookmobile staff are available to answer questions, help families find resources, and connect you with the library services you need.

Getting a Library Card

Don’t have a library card? You can apply for one during any Bookmobile stop!

*Adults should bring a valid photo ID with current California address . Children and teens will need a parent or legal guardian to provide consent and the required information.

*If a California ID does not show the current address, acceptable proof of address may include:

• Utility bill
• Bank statement
• Lease agreement
• Other acceptable documentation showing the patron’s current address

Electronic proof of address may also be accepted. Bookmobile staff will be available to answer questions and assist families with the library card registration process.

Circulation & Pickup Information

Library materials may be requested for pickup at the Placentia Library or a scheduled Bookmobile stop, depending on what is most convenient for you.

• Placentia Library District does not charge overdue fines.
• Eligible materials may be renewed up to 2 times, provided there are no holds or 
  other restrictions on the item, auto-renewal may be available for patrons with an email address on file.
• Bookmobile materials may be picked up at any scheduled Bookmobile stop.
• Placentia Library materials may also be requested for pickup at a Bookmobile stop.
• Bookmobile Library of Things items must be picked up and checked out at a Bookmobile stop.
• Loan periods and checkout limits may vary.
