Your Temporary Library Card: Next Steps
Thank you for registering for a Placentia Library District temporary library card. Your temporary card may be used to access select library services while your account is active.
Your temporary card will expire 90 days from the date you signed up. To extend your card and convert it to a regular Placentia Library card, please visit the library in person and verify your account with a valid photo ID and proof of current address, if needed. The library’s current card information page lists accepted identification and proof-of-address requirements for regular cards.
What You Can Access
eBooks, Audiobooks, Movies, Music, and Online Learning
Your library card may provide access to digital resources such as eBooks, eAudiobooks, streaming media, online learning tools, and research resources. Many resources require your library card number and PIN. Your PIN is usually the last four digits of your phone number.

You can search the online catalog to look for books, DVDs, audiobooks, and other library materials. Some account features may require your library card number and PIN.

In-Library Computers and Services
Temporary cardholders may visit the library to ask about available in-house services, including public computers, printing, and other library resources. Some services may require staff assistance or full account verification.

Make Your Card Permanent
To continue using your library card after the 90-day temporary period, please visit the library before your temporary card expires. Staff will help verify your account and update your card status.
Please bring:
- A valid photo ID
- Proof of your current address, if your ID does not show your current address
